Parent Guide:


Participation Responsibility

– If you would like your child to participate in Eisteddfods, competitions, or exams, it is your responsibility to independently manage their enrolment and all necessary preparations. This includes handling associated fees, coordinating entry forms, and determining suitable categories. As of January 2024, Downtown Creative Studios no longer enrols students in exams or competitions.


Primary Point of Contact

– Our administrative and teaching staff are not obligated to attend these events. As the parent, you will be the primary point of contact for your child’s participation.


Accompanist for Eisteddfods and Exams

– To participate in Eisteddfods and exams, securing an accompanist (live piano player, paid) is sometimes necessary. Please contact your teacher or admin for assistance in finding suitable accompanists. Information about accompanists is usually available on the forms for each event.

Country Music Competitions

– If your child is interested in country music, consider joining a country music club. These clubs offer monthly performance opportunities, providing a platform to connect with like-minded artists and gain valuable experience and support. Feel free to ask our admin for local club recommendations.


Downtown Creative Studios Performances (Mid and End of Year Concerts and Recitals)

– Please note that you need to confirm your child’s attendance for each of these events.


Other Performance Opportunities

– From time to time, Downtown Creative Studios may offer performance opportunities, and specific students may be asked to perform. This is at our discretion, and selection criteria may include the student’s skill level, commitment to their craft, attitude, parental support, availability, and performance style. We cannot provide extra opportunities to everyone, and we appreciate your understanding.
